Client Reviews

Posted under first names or initials, by the client's choice. About the process and the communication, never a promise about results.

Former clients are invited to write a few lines after their discharge about what the process was like and how it was handled, and they are welcome to post under a first name or initials. Most do. What follows describes communication and process, not results, because every case is different.

They answered every call.

I called four firms on a Tuesday night. Naomi's office was the only one where a person picked up, and she called me back herself the next morning. My 341 took eleven minutes on Zoom. The whole thing was over in four months.

She told me not to file.

I expected a sales pitch. Instead she spent twenty minutes explaining why my situation didn't need a bankruptcy yet and what to do instead. When it did make sense a year later, there was nobody else I was going to call.

Explained the means test until I understood it.

I'm not a numbers person. She walked through my six months of pay stubs on a shared screen, showed me exactly where I landed against the median, and quoted the fee in writing that day. No surprises after.

We kept the house.

We were eleven days from a sale date when my sister gave me this number. The petition was filed in three days. The plan payment is tight but it is a number we can do, and she was honest about that from the start.

Never once felt judged.

I was embarrassed to even call. She asked what happened, said 'okay, that's a common one,' and moved on to what we could do about it. My 341 was on Zoom from my kitchen. My husband still doesn't know how normal she made it feel.

The fee was the fee.

Two other firms quoted 'starting at' and would not say more. This one put a number on the first call and it did not change. The Chapter 13 fee mostly went through the plan, which nobody else had explained to me.

Fast when it had to be.

My paycheck was garnished on a Friday. I called Monday, sent documents Tuesday and Wednesday, and the case was filed Thursday. The next check was whole. I did not know that was possible.

She sat in on the whole thing.

I had read that the lawyer sends an associate to the creditors meeting. Naomi was on the Zoom with me, answered one question the trustee had before I could get nervous about it, and we were done in twelve minutes.

Honest about the credit.

She said it would take about eighteen months to have a usable score again and gave me a list of what to do in the first ninety days. Eighteen months later I was approved for a car loan at a normal rate.

On a live site this section is a live embed of the firm's Google Business Profile reviews, not hardcoded text, so that what appears here is what appears on Google. Testimonials describe individual experiences and do not constitute a guarantee, warranty or prediction of the outcome of any case (Cal. Rules of Prof. Conduct, rule 7.1). The reviews on this page are fictional and were written to illustrate a demonstration website.

How we ask for reviews, and why it matters

Nobody wants to attach their full name to the worst financial year of their life, and we do not ask anyone to. After the discharge order arrives, Naomi sends one text: would you write a couple of lines about what the process was actually like and how we handled it, under your first name or initials if you prefer? That is the whole ask. Reviews that describe the process, the phone calls and the Zoom 341 are more useful to the next person than reviews that promise an outcome, and California's advertising rules require it that way.

Talk it through with the attorney

The best way to know whether this is the right firm for you is a thirty-minute conversation with the attorney. It is free and there is no pressure at the end of it.
