Bamboo Law Group is a one-attorney consumer bankruptcy practice on the penthouse floor at 9454 Wilshire Boulevard. We file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases for people across the Central District of California, and we do nothing else.
Why the name
Bamboo is the plant that bends all the way to the ground in a storm and stands back up when it passes. It does not snap. That is what a consumer bankruptcy is for. Congress wrote Chapters 7 and 13 so that a person who got flattened by a layoff, a divorce, a medical year or a business that did not work out could get back up with their house, their car and their retirement intact. The name is a reminder, mostly to us, of what the job is.
How the practice works
Naomi Reyes-Ashford takes every consultation herself. Thirty minutes, by video or phone, free. You will leave the call knowing three things: whether you should file at all, which chapter fits, and what it will cost in writing. About one caller in seven is told not to file, and told what to do instead.
If you do file, Naomi prepares the petition, chooses the exemption system with you, and sits in on your 341 meeting. There is no hand-off to an associate or a paralegal you have never met. The office has two staff: a case manager who gathers your documents and keeps the calendar, and a bookkeeper who handles the trust account. That is the whole firm, on purpose.
Handled by video, from anywhere in the district
Since June 2024, 341 meetings of creditors in the Central District have been held on Zoom for Chapters 7, 12 and 13. That change turned a ninety-mile service area from a marketing line into an honest description. A client in Palmdale, Santa Ana or Santa Barbara goes through an entire case from a kitchen table: the consultation, the document upload, the electronic signatures, the 341 meeting and the discharge. The Beverly Hills office is here if you would rather sit across a table, and parking is validated, but almost nobody needs it.
What we will not do
- Quote a fee we do not intend to charge. The Chapter 7 flat fee and the Chapter 13 no-look fee are published on this site and confirmed in writing before any work starts.
- File a case that should not be filed. If the only debt is student loans, if you are judgment-proof on Social Security, or if a single creditor can be negotiated, we say so.
- Reaffirm a car loan that leaves your budget negative, or pick an exemption system because it is the one we used last time.
- Promise a result. Every case is different and the outcome depends on facts we do not control.
How this site is organized
Seventy-two pages, one for each question a filer actually asks, arranged the way the internal links flow: homepage to pillar to entity page and back up. The full sitemap shows every page in that hierarchy.
Where we are
9454 Wilshire Boulevard sits at Wilshire and Beverly Drive, one block from the Beverly Hills city hall and a short walk from the Wilshire/Rodeo Metro station. The office is on the penthouse floor. Validated parking is in the structure behind the building, entered from Beverly Drive.
Talk it through with the attorney
If you are not sure whether you need a bankruptcy attorney at all, that is a fine reason to call. The first conversation is free and there is no pressure at the end of it.
